Mission

Creating meaningful access to volleyball for more children

Volleyball Serves exists to expand access to youth volleyball by bringing high-quality programming directly into schools and community settings. We believe children benefit when sports are introduced in environments that are familiar, welcoming, and designed for participation, not just performance.

Our nonprofit model is built to support youth development through movement, teamwork, confidence, and connection. We serve children ages 3 to 14 and design programs that are accessible, developmentally appropriate, and practical for partner schools and organizations.

Flagship Program

Volleyball After-School Program

Youth volleyball after-school program in a school gym

Our primary program is a school-based after-school volleyball experience designed to introduce children to the sport in a structured, positive, and accessible format. Serving ages 3 to 14, the program typically runs in 6 to 8 week sessions that meet once per week.

Rather than requiring families to travel to club settings, Volleyball Serves is built around bringing volleyball closer to where children already learn and gather. This model supports participation, reduces barriers, and helps schools offer meaningful after-school enrichment opportunities.

Leadership

Led by experience in volleyball, youth development, and program operations

RG
Rodrigo Gomes
Founder & Executive Director

A former professional and collegiate volleyball player, Rodrigo has spent his career as a coach and CEO building youth sports programs from the ground up. Now a father of two young children, he brings a personal understanding of what families need from accessible, school-based programming โ€” and a deep commitment to making volleyball available to every child, regardless of background.

The vision behind Volleyball Serves is rooted in a simple belief: children should have more opportunities to experience the benefits of volleyball without unnecessary barriers. That vision is already taking shape through school-based partnerships across the counties we serve.
